Dirty Sunshine is a critically-freestyled black-blonde as seen brewed by Tallgrass Brewing Company head brewer Andrew Hood and BTV co-host Michael Dawson in Brewing TV - Episode 62: Tallgrass Brewing Company.

OG: 1.060

FG: 1.009

IBU: 30-35

 Pre-boil volume: 14.5 gallons

Yield: 10 gallons


Malt Bill

25lbs   Pale Malt 2-Row

1lbs     Vienna Malt

1lbs     Munich 10L

.35lbs  Midnight Wheat Malt

 

Hops

1.5oz      Falconers Flight @ 90 min

1oz          Zythos @ 5 min

1 oz         German Hallertau @ 0min

 

Mashed in @ 150*F

It rose from 150-156 in the mash tun.

Mash out  @ 170F. 

Pitch onto yeast from Northern Brewer / Tallgrass Halcyon Pro Series Beer Kit or pitch fresh dose of Wyeast 1450 Denny's Favorite 50.

Ferment at 70*F

Anyway we could get a 5 gallon batch? It's hard to scale down.

Being a Kansas boy myself I look forward to brewing this one!! As soon as I can get consent to get a fridge/deepfreeze.. and a keg with the co2 set up...you know what is said. Happy wife happy life!!! Kansas is al about six packs ( of beer) and dirt roads that get a little muddy. O yea

Great episode guys- loved Hood's dirty freestyle. Looking forward to trying the recipe and checking out more of Tallgrass' brews. My only "critical" critique is the link to episode 64 is read as 62 in the description.
